02Why Shunga?

Shunga is a name that sounds familiar in this corner of the world, and this candle is the calm side of the brand. No toy, no buttons. A flame, a scent and two pairs of hands.

The description is clear about the method: let it burn twenty minutes before use, then put it out and pour the melted wax into your palm before spreading it. The oil gets warm but does not burn, writes Shunga itself.

The aroma is vanilla with a little extra, called a subtle aphrodisiac by the brand. That is a brand claim, so read it as mood. The scent is soft and hangs pleasantly in a room.

04How to use it

Light it and wait
Let the wax melt for a while first. Put the candle on a sturdy, dry surface, away from curtains and paper.
Blow it out
Put the flame out before you use the wax. An open flame never belongs near your body.
Test on your wrist
Pour a little on your inner wrist. Too hot? Wait a little longer.
Pour into your palm and spread
Shunga advises pouring the melted wax into your palm before spreading it. Start gently and feel the temperature.
